Carpinus orientalis semi cascade

Here is  the styling of this Carpinus orientalis.
This tree belongs to a student of me; Floris Velthuis, we made this tree in a one to one workshopsession.
We had a discussion about  this tree, how to style it and get the best result out of it.
A raftstyle was Floris' first idea . My advise was to make a convincing  old looking tree growing on a mountaintop with big massive branches hanging over the edge and off course with lots of deadwood on it.
Next year we will work further on the deadwood and it will be refined.

Ugly duckling becomes a nice cascade

This tree belongs to my student Floris Velthuis,and this ugly duckling becomes a nice Mugo cascade.
The ugly topbranch of this tree will become a great feature of the tree.
With some heathing and bending I force the tenjin in the right place,and put the foliage in the right position.

Yes today arrived my new Birthday-present given by my girlfriend,a rosemary yamadori from Spain.
Happy happy happy.
Thank you Santi Lorenzo for the good packing,it arrived here in one piece.
It has stunning old deadwood with twisting movement and it looks very healthy,next year I will work on this tree.
Maybe i will give a demo with this tree next year.
For now I placed it in a direction to make a beautiful cascade from it,the movement and the deadwood looks at his best this way.
